Sibling Group Holdings, Inc. (OTCQB: SIBE), (www.siblinggroup.com) (the "Company") announced that Blended Schools Network (www.blendedschools.net) is now taking enrollments for a variety of critical languages classes that enable students to earn college credit through a partnership with Seton Hill University. Students can start taking Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and Russian this summer and earn three college credits for the course.
Dual credit programs allow students to take a course for both high school and college credit. The latest data from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) reported over 2,000,000 enrollments in dual credit classes. There are more high schools with dual credit programs (82%) than Advanced Placement programs (69%). According to statistics from the College Board, every course a student takes through dual credit saves parents around $1,700 of public college tuition and $4,300 in private college tuition. Blended Schools Network courses cost $650 for three credit hours.
Blended Schools Network's dual credit teachers are also adjunct faculty at Seton Hill University. Seton Hill is regionally accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and has been serving students for over 125 years.
"Our world language program empowers students to learn languages not often taught in their high school, while earning college credit that will help reduce the costs of earning their degree. Our faculty have developed incredibly engaging courses to ensure student truly learn the language," stated Jed Friedrichsen, CEO of Blended Schools Network. Over the five years of the program, more than 94% of all dual credit students in Blended Schools Network's courses successfully completed their class
Recently, Blended Schools Network's Arabic class had a guest speaker. Dr. Amal K. Hamad spoke from Cairo, talking about the current political and social situation in Egypt. Dr. Hamad is an Assistant professor of the Political Science Department, Faculty of Economics, and Political Science, Cairo University. This event provided a powerful look at living in Egypt three years after the Arab spring.
Students wishing to enroll in Blended Schools Network's classes for this summer can visit the Learning Institute on the Blended Schools Network's Website.
Sibling's acquisition of Blended Schools Network is expected to formally close in April. The companies have already begun an expanded national joint sales and marketing program which is showing impressive potential.
